For Your Information:
  1. Most plastics are highly abrasive, therefore blades must be fitted with the hardest carbide grades to obtain maximum blade life.
  2. Thin plastic sheet requires blades with many teeth to reduce the chip load per tooth, whereas thick sheets require blades with fewer teeth to increase chip load, reduce friction, and reduce power requirements.
  3. Plastics which tend to melt from the friction of cutting require blades designed to reduce this friction.
  4. Plastic cutting blades require VERY SHARP CUTTING EDGES. This degree of sharpness can only be achieved by grinding with VERY FINE GRIT diamond wheels— 400 mesh or finer is a MUST!
  5. NEVER OVERRUN a blade! Have your blades sharpened at the first signs of dulling. Excessive dulling requires EXCESSIVE REGRINDING to regain a sharp edge.
  6. In general, use the thinnest blade possible, such as the THIN RIM, or THIN KERF models. Thin blades “push” easier, save material, and “tooth-for-tooth” will cut cleaner.
